Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using SettleUp ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and TruelyTech ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of SettleUp.

2. The Service

SettleUp is a shared-expense tracking app that allows users to create groups, log expenses, see who owes whom, and record settlements. The service is provided free of charge and contains no advertisements.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SettleUp. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the App, you confirm you meet this requirement.

4. Your Account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current
• Notify us immediately at mail@truelytech.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works of the App
• Use the App to facilitate fraudulent transactions
• Scrape or bulk-extract data from the service by automated means
• Introduce malware, viruses, or harmful code into the service

6. User Content and Data

You retain ownership of the expense data, group names, and other content you enter into the App. By using the service, you grant TruelyTech a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you and your group members.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. SettleUp is a ledger tool — we do not verify or audit expense amounts, descriptions, or split arrangements.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, FREE OF VIRUSES, OR SECURE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TRUELYTECH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING FINANCIAL LOSS OR LOSS OF DATA, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED ₹1,000 INR.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TruelyTech and its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the App in violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing mail@truelytech.com. See our Account Deletion guide. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
